Hey Mr. Alloway's Class!
My name is Kevin and I'm Nolan's uncle. I live in Chicago, Illinois — one of the biggest cities in the United States! I sent your class a postcard, and now here are some cool things about where I live.
Fun Facts About Chicago
No ketchup allowed! In Chicago, putting ketchup on a hot dog is a big no-no. We use mustard, relish, onions, tomatoes, pickles, peppers, and celery salt instead!
The Bean weighs more than 15 school buses! It's actually called "Cloud Gate" and weighs 110 tons. You can see yourself in it like a giant funhouse mirror.
Our pizza is DEEP. Chicago deep dish pizza is like a pie — it can be 2 inches thick and you eat it with a fork!
The first skyscraper was built right here in 1885. It was only 10 stories tall — now our tallest building is 110 stories!
Go Blackhawks! Chicago's hockey team has won the Stanley Cup 6 times. That's a LOT of ice time!
Lake Michigan looks like an ocean. It's so big you can't see the other side! It has beaches and waves just like the sea.
